The gloaming is a magical time, eliciting myriad transitions—between day and night, light and dark, work and rest, visible and obscured. This piece was inspired by the colors of dusk, or gloaming, and the parallel transition in my life when my husband retired from the Army and we moved across country to set down roots. The bright center contrasts with darker edges of an unknown future, but also the possibility inherent in the inevitable dawn. |
