Tales from a Shingled Roof

"Tales from a Shingled Roof" is one of a series of works under the umbrella title "Tales from a Ghost Town."  The shingled roof of a ravaged and decaying building was the inspiration for this work.  Obviously, the shingles represent a layered technique, but the variations in color and striation due to weather and events give a layered approach to time, each shingle telling its own story.

Materials: Hand-dyed cotton

Techniques: Machine-stitched
