Navigating a Broken World

This piece depicts the global history of diaspora. The knots represent the migrations of people from every land, showing that all peoples originally came from somewhere else, and that migration was the way of life for so many millennia. The shape of my piece is based on Buckminster Fuller’s cuboctahedron map projection because I wanted to show a world without a “global consciousness,” where knowledge only extends as far as the neighboring geographic regions.
