I wanted to take two-dimensional quilts to the next level. However, I did not want to achieve this by creating a concave-convex surface. My idea was to create something that appears flat from which another world could emerge. I let threads hang in front and in back, which created another space below, an unexpected bonus. I wish to explore this technique further.
