I live in Harbor Springs, MI, a small town located in the NW corner of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula on the shore of Lake Michigan.  I have been a full time studio artist since 2001.  Prior to that I worked in the field of education, but making art has been a lifelong passion

I have been a professional  member of Studio Art Quilt Associates for more than seven years and currently a member of the Board of Directors and chair of the Exhibition Committee.  I believe strongly in the association’s mission, and am proud to be a part of such a dynamic group artists.

I was first drawn to fiber because of its textural qualities . My medium is layered fabric, combined with stitch and various surface techniques. I dye, discharge and print much of my own fabrics. Working intuitively, using raw edged appliqué I cut and stitch down fabric and shapes to create a background.  I continue to build the composition until I have achieved my vision.

I am currently working on several series which focus on the quality of light.  I like to work abstractly in an impressionistic manor.   What is important to me is that my  art be a dialogue between me the artist and the viewer.   I strive to present enough visual information to draw the viewer in, create a sense of mystery which allows the viewer to enter into the dialogue.
