Midnight in the Garden of Cat and Iris
The name came first. I pictured a dark yet bright night scene of a cat in the iris, so I drew the whole cloth jacquard silk with black gutta and painted with deep value colors.I sewed on iridescent metallic materials as I machine quilted and embellished with buttons.
